The Dc Electric Arc Furnace for producing corundum is a high-temperature equipment used to heat raw materials to high temperatures, melt them and form corundum. The basic principle of a DC Electric Arc Furnace is to generate high temperature through arc discharge, heating the raw materials to the melting point.
DC electric Arc Furnace usually consists of a furnace body, electrodes, arc, power supply, and control system. The furnace body is a space that accommodates raw materials and generates high temperatures, usually made of high-temperature resistant materials. The electrode is the part that introduces current and is usually made of carbon material. The power supply provides the required current and voltage, and the control system is used to adjust the working parameters of the arc furnace.

In the process of producing corundum, the corundum raw material is first placed in the DC electric arc furnace, and then the current and voltage are provided by the power supply to generate arc discharge between the electrodes. Arc discharge generates high temperatures, heating the raw materials to their melting point. Once the raw materials melt, they can be cooled and molded as needed to ultimately obtain the desired corundum product.
It should be noted that DC electric arc furnace for producing corundum need to have high temperature and corrosion resistance characteristics, as corundum has a high melting point and is not easily melted at high temperatures. Therefore, the furnace body and electrode materials of the electric arc furnace need to choose suitable high-temperature and corrosion-resistant materials, such as refractory bricks and carbon materials.

6.The current direction and electromagnetic field direction of DC furnace remain unchanged. Driven by the magnetic field, the molten slurry circulates in one direction all the time, forming electromagnetic stirring, so that the material melts without dead corners, the product quality is high, and the yield is high.


7.When an accident occurs in the smelting process and a power failure occurs for a period of time, an insulating hard shell will be formed on the surface of the molten liquid. 

Facing this situation, the double electrode DC furnace can start arc smelting again by adding arc striking materials such as coke at the bottom of the electrode.
