Ferrosilicon smelting DC Submerged Arc Furnace is an equipment used for producing ferrosilicon alloys. Silicon iron alloy is an important metallurgical raw material, mainly used as a deoxidizer and alloying element additive in steel production.
Ferrosilicon smelting DC submerged Arc Furnace usually consists of a furnace body, combustion system, cooling system, and control system. The furnace body generally adopts a cylindrical structure, composed of refractory materials, and can withstand high temperature and chemical corrosion. The combustion system usually uses a burner to introduce the high-temperature gas produced by the combustion of fuel and air into the furnace chamber, providing heat. The cooling system lowers the temperature of the furnace body and chamber through water or air cooling to protect equipment and improve production efficiency. The control system is used to monitor and adjust parameters such as temperature, pressure, and gas flow inside the furnace chamber to ensure the stable progress of the reaction inside the furnace.
The working principle of a siliceous iron ore hot furnace is to put siliceous iron ore and fuel (such as coke) into the furnace chamber, and through high-temperature combustion, reduce the silicon and iron oxides in the ore, generating siliceous iron alloy. The high-temperature gas inside the furnace is discharged through the furnace top, and after cooling and dust removal treatment, it can be used for fuel preheating or recycling, improving energy utilization efficiency.
Ferrosilicon smelting DC submerged arc furnace has advantages such as high production efficiency, low energy consumption, and flexible operation. Widely used in the steel industry, it plays an important role in improving steel quality and reducing production costs.


Equipment characteristics

1.The power consumption is 10%~15% less than that of AC furnace.


2.The consumption of graphite electrode is 40% less than that of AC furnace.


3.Compared with AC furnace, it eliminates the investment of reactive power compensation device.


4.The noise level is 10~20 dB lower than AC furnace.


5.In the smelting process, metal ions in the melt will be concentrated around the negative electrode due to electrolysis, so as to improve the yield and purity of products, which is more conducive to the enrichment of precious metals and other high-value metals.


6.The current direction and electromagnetic field direction of DC furnace remain unchanged. Driven by the magnetic field, the molten slurry circulates in one direction all the time, forming electromagnetic stirring, so that the material melts without dead corners, the product quality is high, and the yield is high.


7.When an accident occurs in the smelting process and a power failure occurs for a period of time, an insulating hard shell will be formed on the surface of the molten liquid. 

Facing this situation, the double electrode DC furnace can start arc smelting again by adding arc striking materials such as coke at the bottom of the electrode.
